I have been seeing Heather for a while now and have witnessed so much transformation, especially in regards to my mental health and overall wellbeing. Heather has such a beautiful and creative way to make you feel truly seen and heard, and I love the somatic practices she integrates, it's truly unlike any experience I have had. Being able to return to such a safe space is truly so healing, and I couldn't recommend her services any more. Her kind check-ins, practical tools and resources that she shares is so helpful, especially in a world where there is an overwhelming amount of information and it can sometimes feel daunting knowing where to start. Heather truly has a gift in healing and making you feel comfortable enough to open up and create deep change. I will always recommend her for anyone in the area or who are available for online sessions.

"Throughout my sessions with Heather I can say I've made more progress compared to other therapy I have had. Her calming and nurturing presence makes it so much easier to open up and express. Not only have I learned to overcome some of the issues I was facing, but I've taken away valuable tools to use in the future. Highly recommended and could not express more thanks for what she has helped me achieve."

"Heather created a nurturing, calming and safe environment for my Art Therapy sessions. Personally, I used to find therapy to be incredibly difficult, but having the freedom to use art materials to express issues was enlightening and a very comfortable and practical experience. It allowed me to express what I normally wouldn't be able to. Heather is an incredibly professional, non-judgemental therapist and thoroughly helped me through some of the toughest times in my life."

“I am very grateful we could connect and Heather generously shared her meaningful practice with us. Despite it being a new approach for the group, Heather's calm and subtle guidance made the group feel at ease so everyone embraced their meditative journey with an open heart and we embodied powerful tools to treasure for our mental and physical wellbeing, from gentle movement for relaxation to mediation and drawing. I look forward to offering this special opportunity to our group again in the future.”

“When I began seeing Heather Devine I refused to believe I could accomplish a lot. Since then I have found work, saved money, got my driver's license, started socialising again, etc. I have also regained my ability to create, doing so without judgement and always for myself rather than for others to enjoy.”

“Heather has come in to run several art therapy sessions at CatholicCare Wollongong's weekly social groups with NDIS and HCP participants. The atmosphere she creates in the room is completely welcoming and reassuring, collaborative and ethical. Many of our participants would not consider themselves artists, but she was able to build a trusting environment in which all eventually had a go. She is not prescriptive, and she celebrates and nurtures each offer, attempt and expression that people give. I personally was really impressed with Heather's deft approach but more importantly, the participants all speak of her fondly and ask about her often.”

“For me and also, I have noticed other group members, Heather’s group reduces anxiety and stress. She helps us to be mindful and create beautiful works to be proud of. It's built friendships, conversations and happiness. Its increased confidence and let people discover new talents and interests. Many of us have wanted to keep attending and have felt sad if we've missed a session. I think it's a wonderful idea and if allowed to expand would reduce the increase in mental health issues and social problems in our community.”

“Heather has a very comforting way of unraveling thoughts tied up in thoughts, I found her Art Therapy classes really allowed me to free my thinking and create space in my mind, allowing new ideas to flourish.”

“I’ve been to quite a few of Heather’s Art Therapy classes now, and have really enjoyed the experience. Coming to it from having extremely limited visual art experience I was a little nervous, though Heather was excellent at making everyone feel accepted, comfortable, and capable in their own unique creative expression. The guided meditations were my favourite part; her use of creative visualisation is very powerful. I also really enjoyed experimenting with various collaging techniques, inspired by our experiences in the meditation. The group discussions after this creative time were probably the most powerful part though, and Heather facilitated this time skilfully and mindfully to support open and non-judgmental conversations around our own individual experiences. Overall, her sessions left me feeling grounded, inspired, and clearer in myself, and I look forward to participating again.”

“I have suffered from depression and anxiety for many years and lost my job because of my employer's poor understanding of mental health. As an older woman, unemployed and experiencing domestic violence from my son, after experiencing it from my ex-husband as well, I have become isolated and socially anxious and withdrawn, having spent the past year homebound. This art experience opportunity has become the greatest joy of my week! It has helped me get out into society and is a freeing place where I can explore a variety of mediums and even express my feelings and worries in a non-threatening, non judgemental way.”

“This art therapy class has brought me out of my home to join a group of women with other diverse problems. I am now looking forward to going out and learning something new e.g. pottery and painting. This class has helped me socially and made me share in laughter. I strongly recommend this class to anyone who needs physical and emotional stimulation. Thank you to Heather for bringing this class to us. I hope many more people will have the opportunity to have this experience.”

“I would like to express my gratitude to Heather Devine. A lady that opened up a fresh perspective for me regarding the value of art. I was unsure of myself to actually be able to produce artwork of any substance as I have never been good at drawing. Heather was very supportive for nervous people such as myself and her encouragement to just feel relaxed and let yourself be in the flow and see what art expressions show up. I absolutely enjoyed following my own bliss whilst experimenting with different art materials. I discovered that art actually has a calming effect and I discovered that through your own experimentation with art of various forms, I am more confident within my views of being an creative person. I cannot thank Heather enough for providing art classes that bring out the unknown artistic potential for all who participate. Thank you Heather, for showing me that you are never too old to try something new.”
